P.S. 290 Elementary School offers scholars the opportunity to learn about the different elements of the visual arts. Scholars engage in group and individual projects and develop the conceptual understandings behind drawing, sketching, illustrating, and painting. Scholars used mixed formats to create dymamic pieces of artwork informed by the Blueprint for the Arts standards at different grade levels. Scholars learn about technique, form, and style to ignite imagination and curiosity.
Scholars at different grade levels are assessed formally and informally to differentiate the instruction. Scholars create pieces of art at the different developmental stages and develop skills and spark their imagination.
